FRANK G. LETTIS,

a witness called and sworn on behalf of the People, was examined in chief by Mr. Walker and testified as follows:

Q Where were you on the night of May 4th?

A The first company No. 1 Second four.

Q Whose company?

A Lieut. Steele's.

Q You were the east man in the second row?

A Yes sir.

Q Before the bomb was thrown did you have anything shining in your hand, either club or revolver?

A No sir.

Q Who stood at your left the second man in that row?

A Officer Gaynor.
