MARTIN BOCK,
a witness called and sworn on behalf of the People was examined in chief by Mr. Walker, and testified as follows:
Q What is your name?
A Martin Bock.
Q Where were you on the night of May 4th?
A The fourth man in the front line on the east side.
Q Were you there when the bomb went off?
A Yes I was.
Q At any time before the bomb went off, did you have any shining thing in your hand, revolver or club?
Objected to as not proper rebutting testimony. The court overruled the objection; to which ruling of the court counsel for defendants then and there excepted.
A No sir.
Q Who stood at your left?
A O'Connell.
JOHN O'CONNELL,
A WITNESS CALLED AND SWORN ON BEHALF OF THE PEOPLE, WAS EXAMINED IN CHIEF BY MR. WALKER AND TESTIFIED AS FOLLOWS:

A AT THE HAYMARKET.

A NO 4. THE FIRST SET OF FOURS.
