July 29th, 1886, 10 O'clock A. M.
Court met pursuant to adjournment.
JOSEPH B. CASAGRANDE, A witness called and sworn on behalf of the people; was examined in chief by Mr. Grinell, and testified as follows;
Q What is your name?
A Joseph B. Casagrande.
Q What is your business?
A Telephone operator.
Q Where?
A East Chicago Avenue police station.
Q Where were you on the 4th of May?
A The Larabee street police station.
Q Were you on duty that night?
A Yes sir.
Q Was there any call of the patrol wagon and police man at that station?
A Yes sir.
Q Did you make a record, a minute of it?
A Yes sir.
Q Have you that minute with you?
A Yes sir.
Q Let me see the hour it was they were signed. What is the paper you hold in your hand?
A Police telephone report of services.
Q What is the entry in regard to that call?
A SPecial, Randolph and Des Plaines street -- 10-32 P. M.
Q Did that wagon go out"
A Yes sir.
Q How many men on the wagon, if you remember?
A It was a load-- I don't remember how many.
Q What was the hour of their return?
A Four o'clock in the morning.
