a witness called and sworn on behalf of the People, was examined in chief by Mr. Grinnell, and testified as follows:
Q What is your name?
A C. C. Vehmeyer.
Q What is your business?
A Connected with Laflin Rand Powder Company.
Q Where do you live?
A Town of Lake.
Q Where is your magazine, where do you keep your powder?
A The magazine is on Archer Avenue, between Johnson Avenue and 47th Street.
Q Was there any package placed in your charge after the 4th of May by the detectives of this city?
A Yes.
Q To whom did you deliver them?
A I delivered it to Duffy.
Q When?
A Day before yesterday.
Q You have kept it ever since you received it from them at the Central Station?
A Yes, sir.
Q And the same package you received from them you delivered to Duffy unopened and untouched?
A Yes, sir.
Q Precisely in the same condition it was when you received it?
A Yes, sir.
