January 29th, 1885.
"In the announcement under the heading "City of Chicago," is the following:
"Group Jefferson No.1 holds its regular agitation-meeting Saturday the 31st of this month at 8 o'clock P.M., at 1600 Milwaukee Avenue.
Order of the day.
1st. An essay on the theme "Civilization" and Murder".
2nd. "Free discussion of this theme and other business."
"All members are requested to be present."
"New members will be initiated.
