Indictments for murder with sentence for August Spies, Michael Schwab, Samuel Fielden, Albert R. Parsons, Adolph Fischer, George Engel and Louis Lingg finding them all guilty of murder and sentencing them to death by hanging on December 3, 1886. Indictment for murder with sentence for Oscar W. Neebe finding him guilty of murder and sentencing him to fifteen years in the penitentiary.

18803 Indictment for Murder

This day again come the said People by Julius S. Grinnel States Attorney. And the said defendant as well in his own proper person as by his aforesaid Counsel also comes and now neither the said defendant nor his Counsel for him saying anything further why the Judgment of the Court should not now be pronounced against him on the Verdict of Guilty heretofore rendered to indictment in this cause.

Therefore it is ordered, and adjudged by the court that the said defendant August Spies be taken from the bar of the Court to the common Jail of Cook County from whence he came, and be confined in said Jail in safe and secure custody until the third day of December A. D. 1886 and that on said third day of December between the hours of ten o'clock in the forenoon and two o'clock in the afternoon the said defendant August Spies be, by the Sheriff of Cook County according to law, within the walls of said Jail or in a yard or enclosure adjoining the same hanged by the neck until he is dead, and the said Sheriff is hereby required and commanded to take the body of the said defendant August Spies and confine him in the said common Jail of Cook County in such safe and secure custody and upon the said third day of December A. D. 1886, between the hour of ten o'clock in the forenoon and two o'clock in the afternoon to hang the said defendant August Spies by the neck until he be dead.

D. 1886 between the hours of ten o'clock in the forenoon and two o'clock in the afternoon to hang the said defendant Michael Schwab by the neck until he be dead.

18803. Indictment for Murder

This day again come the said People by Julius S. D. 1886, and that on said third day of December between the hours of ten o'clock in the forenoon and two o'clock in the afternoon the said defendant Samuel Fielden be, by the sheriff of Cook County according to law, within the walls of said Jail or in a yard or enclosure adjoining the same hanged by the neck until he is dead, and the said sheriff is hereby required and commanded to take the body of the said defendant Samuel Fielden and confine him in the said common Jail of Cook County in such safe and secure custody and upon the said third day of December A. D. 1886, between the hours of ten o'clock in the forenoon and two o'clock in the afternoon to hang the said Samuel Fielden by the neck until he be dead.

Parsons be, by the sheriff of Cook County according to law, within the walls of said Jail or in a yard or enclosure adjoining the same hanged by the neck until he is dead, and the said sheriff is hereby required and commanded to take the body of the said defendant Albert R. Parsons and confine him in the said common Jail of Cook County in such safe and secure custody and upon the said third day of December A. D. 1886 between the hours of ten o'clock in the forenoon and two o'clock in the afternoon to hang said defendant Albert R. Parsons by the neck until he be dead.

This day again come the said People by Julius S. Grinnell States Attorney and the said defendant as well in his own proper person as by his aforesaid Counsel also comes and now neither the said defendant nor his counsel for him saying anything further why judgment of the court should not now be pronounced against him on the verdict of Guilty heretofore rendered to the Indictment in this cause.

Therefore it is ordered, and adjudged by the court that the said defendant Adolph Fischer be taken from the bar of the court to the common jail of Cook County from whence he came and be confined in said jail in safe and secure custody until the third day of December A. D. 1886, and that on said third day of December between the hours of ten o'clock in the forenoon and two o'clock in the afternoon the said defendant Adolph Fischer be, by the sheriff of Cook County according to law, within the walls of said jail or in a yard or enclosure adjoining the same hanged by the neck until he is dead, and the said sheriff is hereby required and commanded to take the body of the said defendant Adolph Fischer and confine him in the said common jail of Cook County in such safe and secure custody and upon the said third day of December A. D. 1886, between the hours of ten o'clock in the forenoon and two o'clock in the afternoon to hang the said Adolph Fischer by the neck until he be dead.

18803. Indictment for Murder.

This day again come the said People by Julius Grinnell States Attorney and the said defendant as well in his own proper person as by his aforesaid Counsel also comes and now neither the said defendant nor his Counsel for him saying anything further why the Judgment of the Court should not now be pronounced against him in the Verdict of Guilty heretofore rendered to the Indictment in this cause.

Therefore it is ordered and adjudged by the court that the said defendant George Engel be taken from the bar of the Court of the common Jail of Cook County from whence he came, and be confined in said Jail in safe and secure custody until the third day of December A. D. 1886. and that on said third day of December between the hours of ten o'clock in the forenokn and two o'clock in the afternoon the said defendant George Engel be, by the sheriff of Cook County according to law, within the walls of said Jail or in a yard or enclosure adjoining the same hanged by the neck unti% he is dead, and the said Sheriff is hereby required and commanded to take the body of the said defendant George Engel and confine him in the said Common Jail of Cook County in such safe and secure custody and upon the said third day of December A. D. 1886, between the hours of ten o'clock in the forenoon and two o'clock in the afternoon to hang the said defendant George Engel by the neck until he be dead.

18803. Indictment for Murder.

This day again come the said People by Julius S. Grinnell States Attorney and the said defendant as well in his own proper person as by his aforesaid Counsel also comes and now neither the said defendant nor his Counsel for him saying anything further why Judgment of the Court should not now be pronounced against him on the Verdict of Guilty heretofore rendered to the Indictment in this cause.

Therefore it is ordered, and adjudged by the Court that the said defendant Louis Lingg be taken from the bar of the Court to the common Jail of Cook County from whence he came, and be confined in said Jail in safe and secure custody until the third day of December A. D. 1886, and that on said third day of December between the hours of ten o'clock in the forenoon and two o'clock in the afternoon the said defendant Louis Lingg be, by the sheriff of Cook County according to law, within the walls of said Jail or in a yard or enclosure adjoining the same hanged by the neck until he is dead, and the said sheriff is hereby required and commanded to take the body of the said defendant Louis Lingg and confine him in the said common Jail of Cook County in such safe and secure custody and upon the said third day of December A. D. 1886, between the hours of ten o'clock in the forenoon and two o'clock in the afternoon to hang the said defendant Louis Lingg by the neck until he be dead.

Oscar W. Neebe impld. &c.
18803 Indictment for Murder

This day come the said People by Julius S. Grinnell State's Attorney, and the said defendant as well in his own proper person as by his Counsel also comes, and now neither the said Defendant for his Counsel for him saying anything further why judgment of the Court should not now be pronounced against him on the Verdict of guilty, heretofore rendered to the Indictment In this cause.

THEREFORE, it is ordered and adjudged by the Court that the said Defendant Oscar W. Neebe, be taken from the bar of the Court to the Common Jail of Cook County, from whence he came, and from thence by the Sheriff of Cook County, without delay to the Penitentiary of this State, at Joliet, and be delivered to the Warden or Keeper of said Penitentiary; and the said Warden or Keeper is hereby required and commanded to take the body of the said Defendant Oscar W. Neebe, and confine him in said Penitentiary, in safe and secure custody, for and during the term of fifteen years from and after the delivery hereof, at hard labor, and that he be thereafter discharged.

IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that the said defendant pay all the costs of these proceedings and that execution issue therefor.

And for as much as the matters and things aforesaid do not fully appear of record in said cause and proceedings, the said defendants present this, their bill of Exceptions, and pray that the same may be signed and sealed and may be made part of the record in said cause.

And it is done accordingly the 13th day of November A. D. 1886.
