Exhibit 83.

December 31st, 1885. Fourth page.

Report of a meeting in Luth's Hall, 519 Larrabee Street, in regard to the eight hour question.

Meeting of the North Side Group. The speakers were Schwab and Felder. Schwab said--

It is only four months to the first of May, and what has been done as yet? The majority of the working men here were unorganized yet, and did not belong to any trades union. The trades union had themselves done but little, and as yet were occupied exclusively with the anarchists. Pamphlets should be distributed by the thousand, mass meetings should be held incessantly, whoever has power has right, who has right has not always power. Therefore the working men should arm before the first of May to meet Pinkerton's scoundrels, the Police and the militia. The lessons of the Past-Lemont, the latest events in Michigan, and the coal mines--- should serve as a warning to the working man. If you think the anarchists are a sort of Pinkerton's guard for the working mens movement then you are mistaken. The anarchists arm themselves because they are working men. They preach arming in order that the working men should be able to liberate themselves.
